A Few Words From the Puppy-Mommy
Hello, I’m Diana, Cookie’s “Puppy-Mommy. ” Welcome to our Blog!
- Anytime is a good time for a snuggle!
Just as Cookie is my first-ever-in-life dog, this is my debut as a blogger. Since Cookie joined our household there is definitely more love in the house…and much more mayhem! The kitchen has turned into a de-facto puppy playpen, my back yard has little holes in the ground everywhere and is covered in plastic toys, and our cat S’more is really not happy with us. My head is spinning as I cram in advice from our many dog training books and race to sessions of puppy kindergarten. There is now puppy laundry to do, constant battles with muddy paws, and I’m spending a fortune on bones each week. There have been many vet visits as puppies seem to need as many shots and boosters as a newborn baby. Walks and regular games of fetch must be scheduled in each day. On top of all that, my son is having “issues” with the new addition, who nips, rips clothes, and takes up a good deal of my attention. I’m definitely sleep deprived since these days we have to get Cookie up to “get busy” around midnight, and I know I’ve gained a few pounds in people-treats since this all began. So WHY am I doing all this? Well, I think the picture below says it all. I have also been so inspired by the over-the-top, ecstatic reactions of those who meet Cookie for the first time…especially the children. I am so fortunate to live in a great town full of wonderful dogs and their devoted owners, from whom I’m learning so much. Not to mention the insights I get from our amazing dog trainer. Already there are so many stories and possibilities and dog care tips to share, and as Cookie says, we’ve only just begun! That puppy is so cute. Katelyn can’t wait for the day we get a dog. I grew up with a variety of dogs my dad rescued from the street so I know how much work is involved but also how much fun they can be!! You look great!!

You look great! Katelyn cannot wait until we get a dog so I am not going to show her this picture bc we just moved and still living out of boxes.
